i was brought up in what was practically a mansion in san francisco by nannies and family friends, that's how it always was. my parents divorced right after sunny was born so i don't really remember a time when they were ever really domestic and we didn't have to make sure there were a good few people between them. not that this didn't stop them from fighting, there were plenty of times me and sunny would crawl into the same bed, him crying because he didn't know what was going on, listening to them scream and shout about how we were being raised. since the house was technically part of the van koltze fortune, we were technically under the parental guidance of our mother, but she practically lived in new york 200 days of the year, so like i said family friends and nannies were the closest things to parents we really got. anyway my family isn't all that interesting, i have a good number of ex-step siblings, a half sister from my mother's most recently failing marriage and a step brother who's older than me who clearly just wants to become the next alastair franklin. to be honest i haven't had such an eventful life, i was in hospital for months when i was eight after contracting ecoli but since them my immune system has been pretty top notch. i graduated high school, got accepted into five different universities, yes some were ivy league, but i turned them all down. my parents, mostly my dad, had been pushing me towards law, then my mother had suggested graphics, art, fashion or photography - clearly they didn't take the news that i wasn't interested in any of those and would like to do a music degree. so i left sf and went travelling, ended up in byron and wallah. haven't really called anywhere else home.
THE OPINIONS.
"reed is honestly not human, i swear. despite the time difference between byron and san francisco, he'll stay up just so i can skype him, ask him to help me with an essay or understanding something i probably wasn't listening to or just hear me rant about life in general. he's been my best friend since i was born, he's been my hero for years and he's so inspiring and such a lovely person it's kind of hard not to like him. sure he's annoying like every brother can be, but i don't know what i'd do without him. he's insanely passionate, a hopeless romantic - which really gets him into rediculous emotional states - and possibly one of the most talented guys i know. he's insanely humble, modest, accepting and loving person i've ever met. he sees the good in everyone, no matter what and he never lets anything cloud his judgement until he himself has made up his mind. he forgives, in my opinion, far too easily and gives out second chances multiple times. i swear he never sleeps, he worries about everyone else and he'll give himself a heart attack before he's thirty because he's just such a caring guy. i just think he needs it returned every now and them or he's going to wear himself out!"sunny franklin, 19, brother.
"reed is useless. you know how good he could've been helping me with fashion shoots? brilliant. he's so creative and imaginative and he can do absolutely anything, but he'd rather waste his life and ignore his family. i haven't spoken to him for four years. i don't mention him in interviews, didn't talk about him when anyone asked about my children. he doesn't exist to me anymore."audrey van koltze, 48, mother.
